MDF stands for Medium Density Fibreboard. 

The wood fibres are bonded and compacted together with synthetic resin through the joint action of pressure and heat in a continuous press.

MDF is a homogeneous board with excellent dimensional stability, and a uniform, smooth and high density surface.
